Cornwall Ontario — The 7th Annual Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon will be broadcast live on Friday April 19th from 6:00am – 7:00pm at Cornwall Square’s Centre Court. Their goal is to raise $125,000 for an Obstetrical Ultrasound for the Cornwall Community Hospital. Tune in to radio stations Variety 104.5, CJSS 101.9, or watch it on TV Cogeco.
“On Radiothon day, the entire hospital tunes in and listens to the Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon”, says Jeanette Despatie, Chief Executive Officer of Cornwall Community Hospital. “Our Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Fikry Ywakim, is overjoyed at the prospect of updating the obstetrical ultrasound. He says this single piece of equipment is key to patient care and management. Radiothon day will be a celebration for all of us.”
“One of the great things about the Radiothon is that everyone can participate”, says Allan Wilson, Chair of the Board, Cornwall Hospital Foundation. “You can call us, or drop in at the Cornwall Square for a visit. You can organize fundraisers in preparation for a gift at the Radiothon. Whether you want to make a gift or just want to take part in this great day, you are welcome. Just knowing that together, we can reach our goal is galvanizing. It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of.”
“Spring is internationally recognized as being the time of year for renewal and rebirth, says Connie Vardy, Executive Director, Cornwall Hospital Foundation. “So I am thrilled that this spring the Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon will raise funds to purchase an obstetrical ultrasound machine for Cornwall Hospital Foundation. After welcoming 523 babies in our Hospital in 2012, it’s nice to know that we can maintain our high level of care with top-of-the-line equipment.”
