CORNWALL.CA — Local hockey fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming days and week with the arrival of the post-season for the Cornwall Colts and Cornwall River Kings.
Cornwall River Kings
The Cornwall River Kings will have home ice advantage to open up the Ligue nord-américaine de hockey (LNAH) playoffs later this month.
The full LNAH playoff picture has yet to be finalized at this time, however the River Kings are certain to finish either third or fourth overall in the league, leading to a match up with either Riviere du Loup or St-Georges in the first round.
The first round best-of-five playoff series will will kick off on Saturday, March 30th at 7:30 pm at the Civic Complex and continue on Sunday, March 31st at 2:30 pm, again at the Civic Complex. Game 3 and Game 4 (if needed) will be on the road, while Game 5 (again, if needed) will be at the Civic Complex on Sunday, April 7th at 2:30 pm.
General admission tickets can now be obtained at the Civic Complex box office during regular business hours. Prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students and $5 for children. For more info, call (613) 938-9400.
Season ticket holders and sponsors can call the River Kings office at (613) 935-6219 to reserve their seats.
Cornwall Colts
Meanwhile, the playoffs are already in full swing for the Cornwall Colts. The Colts and Brockville Braves are currently tied 2-2 in their best-of-seven, first-round Central Canada Hockey League playoff series.
Game 5 in the series takes place Thursday, March 21st at the Civic Complex (7:30 pm), while Game 6 is in Brockville on Friday, March 22nd. Game 7, if necessary, will be at the Civic Complex on Sunday, March 24th at 7 pm.
