Cornwall girls hockey coach and community volunteer Rod McLeod was one of the 100 finalists in the contest, which celebrates and recognizes local hockey supporters across the country.

“The fact that Mr. McLeod was selected as a finalist in this national contest is a big accomplishment in itself,” said Marc Campeau, Junior Director with Cornwall Girls Hockey Association.

Residents were invited to vote for their favourite nominee during the weekend of March 23rd and 24th.

“Cornwall is fortunate to have a large number of volunteers who give their time to make our community a better place, and Mr. McLeod is a perfect example of this,” said Mayor Bob Kilger.

There was a party and viewing of the results at the Civic Complex tonight.
