Cornwall comes out strong and takes advantage of an early power play when Sasha Pokulok gives them the 1-0 lead on a shot from the point at 1:21.  The River Kings have a few other good chances but Sebastien Charpentier stood tall in the Sorel net.  Cornwall outshot Sorel 12-10 in the opening frame.

The second period begins as a goaltenders duel between Loic Lacasses and Charpentier who each make many key saves in the first 15 minutes. Sorel finally solves Lacasse when Eric Doucet beats him five-hole at 14:39 and ties the game.  Not quite two minutes later Nicolas Corbeil finds the top corner to regain the lead for Cornwall. The lead lasts just 19 seconds before Benjamin Lecomte also goes top shelf to tie the game again.

Sorel takes their first lead of the game early in the third period on a goal from Gregory Dupré who beat Lacasse glove side at 4:11. Roughly three minutes later Sorel goes on the power play and add to their lead with Dupré second goal of the game. The River Kings pull their goalie with 2:30 minutes to go to try and salvage the season but it is Sorel who score the empty net goal to end the semi-final series.
