Breakfast Connections will focus on Ontario’s Accessibility Standard for Customer Service

breakfest-connectionsCornwall Ontario — The Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre, the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce and the SD&G Community Futures Development Corporation, invite you to join us at the next monthly Breakfast Connections event to be held at the Ramada Inn on May 15th, 2013 at 7:30 am.

The May edition of Breakfast Connections will focus on Ontario’s Accessibility Standard for Customer Service.  It is not about physical changes to your premises — it’s simply about providing good customer service to everyone.

Our speaker this month is Helen Finn, City Clerk for the City of Cornwall.  Her experience includes almost 7 years as City Clerk and Director of Public Affairs (including communications and website) for the City of Beaconsfield, lawyer, mother of a 21 year old son who is hearing impaired and has Asperger’s (autism spectrum disorder), dysgraphia and dyscalculia. She Chaired the Special Needs Advisory Committee (SNAC) for 3 years and sat on the Education Committee for 2 years, for the Lester B. Pearson School Board. 

Over the years, she has attended more than 50 courses and seminars on various learning disabilities.  She has also pleaded and won cases for the rights of hearing impaired children within the school system.

Ms. Finn will share with us her passion and knowledge on the issues of accessibility and compliance.
