Spring Fling 2013Cornwall Ontario — The arts and culture scene in Cornwall has been buzzing with lots of exciting events and exhibitions, including the upcoming Spring Fling! So what is Spring Fling Art Exposition and Sale really all about?

“This idea came to me early spring, so impressed by the quality of art this area has to offer but realizing that many of the artist live in a rural area or don’t necessarily have a convenient location to showcase their work. I have been very fortunate to have the valued assistance of both Dan Burgess and Carolyn Helen Davis in creating this event, without their knowledge and participation Spring Fling certainly would not happen. Quite simply, this is an opportunity for local (SD&G) artists to get together and display and offer their work for sale to our the community”, says organizer Linda Riel.

Spring Fling 2013 will take place at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, Cornwall on May 26th, 10:00-5:00PM. It will include the talents of Marcel Quesnel, Beverly Leroux, Tracey Croxall-Davies, Frank Loria, Erynn Blackadder Doherty, Cheryl Beasley, Renate Nadi Wesley, Julia Rita Theriault, Anne Wotherspoon, Carolyn Helen Davies, Dan Burgess, Sandra Taylor Hedges, Lesley McDougall, Robert St.Louis, Hugh Metcalfe, Morgan Tremblay and Debbie Harding Robertson.

“This event is not a contest or competition, each artist is welcome to display, promote and market their work in their own way”, explains Riel. ” We are committed to creating this event about the artist, for the artist!”

In addition to all the talented artists listed above, this event will also showcase two young emerging artists from this community.

“We are also hoping to donate two spots to young artist in order to encourage them to continue pursuing their artistic interests, one of these positions has been filled by Morgan Tremblay, certainly a rising star to watch”, says Riel.

There is no admission charge and five of the participating artists are graciously donating pieces as door prizes!
