Cornwall Ontario — You can add three more names to the ever-expanding Cornwall River Kings roster.
Newly acquired centre Bobby Mazerolle, forward Patrick Lapostolle and goaltender Matthew Murphy have all come to terms with the team.
Mazerolle was acquired during the off-season in a deal that sent goaltender Fred Piché to Jonquière. Last season with the Marquis, the 26-year-old Latvian had four goals and six assists in 20 games. Mazerolle had 43 points in 42 games in his last full LNAH season back in 2010-11 with Sherbrooke.
Lapostolle was a depth player for the River Kings last season, appearing in 15 games for Cornwall. The 22-year-old had two assists.
The 25-year-old Murphy will back up all-star Loic Lacasse in goal. The 6-foot-2 Murphy appeared in one game last season for Saint-Georges. He previously played four seasons in the QJAHL. Murphy took the loss in goal for Cornwall last Friday night in Trois-Rivières. He made 21 saves for the River Kings.
The River Kings have a busy weekend ahead with a home-and-home versus the expansion Valleyfield Braves. The teams first meet Friday night in Valleyfield (8 p.m.) and the following evening, Mario Joly and the Braves visit Cornwall for a 7:30 p.m. start.
