Cornwall Ontario – With the LNAH trade deadline set for Tuesday at 8 p.m, the River Kings aren’t wasting any time.
On Sunday night, Cornwall acquired Jean-René Forget and Brandon Reid from the Laval Braves in exchange for Brett Angel, Anthony Pittarelli and a 2014 third-round draft pick (originally acquired from Jonquiere).
In 16 games with the Braves this season, Forget has 5 goals and 5 assists to go along with 53 penalty minutes. The 29-year-old from Saint-Jerome suited up for the Akwesasne Warriors of the FHL in 2011-12.
Reid is currently suiting up for CSKA Moscow in the KHL. In 26 games, he has 3 goals and 6 assists. The 32-year-old from Kirkland, QC was a 7th round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 2000.
