Cornwall Ontario — The Cornwall Community Police Service is holding special events to illustrate its commitment to helping make a strong and safe community by building relationships with the community partners as part of its Police Week celebration.

Police Week begins May 11th and runs until May 17th, 2014. The week’s activities will focus on “Building Community Partnerships”. You are invited to participate and learn how law enforcement agencies solve crimes and to help our community.

On Thursday, May 15th, 2014, the Cornwall Community Police Service will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE at their East End Station located at 330 Montreal Road, Cornwall.

We have combined our efforts with: Canadian Nation Railway Police (CN),Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.),Royal Canadian Mountain Police (RCMP),Victim Services,Assault Sexual Assault Program (ASAP)Canadian Boarder Services (CBSA)Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR)Child and Youth Advocacy Center ( KOALA)Eastern Ontario Health Unit ( Tobacco Enforcement Unit)

On display will be….The Cornwall Community Police Service: The Identification Unit,The Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT),The Motorcycle UnitThe Bike Unit.New Cruiser with the Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR)

Everyone welcome to attend.

Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service will also be visiting schools during this week encouraging the students from grades 4-6 to participate in a modified police obstacle course to promote better relations with the schools and students as well as providing an opportunity for the students to experience the physical challenge of policing.

The Cornwall Community Police Service is dedicated to our vision: A Safer Cornwall, reducing crime always.
