Young LiberalsCORNWALL, ON – It was an exciting day on Sunday May 25 for the Ontario Young Liberals as Premier Kathleen Wynne announced her platform for the 2014 Provincial Election. Last summer at the Young Liberal Summer Fling, Young Liberals voted on a policy regarding civic engagement, which was voted on, approved, and sent to the Ontario Liberal Party. The Summer Fling is a weekend for both Provincial and Federal Young Liberals to come together to discuss and debate policies. The policy that was approved focused on revamping the grade 10 civics course as well as having voter registration in high schools for new voters who turn 18.
On Sunday, the Ontario Liberal Party launched their platform and included in the “Making Government Work for All Ontarians” section of the platform was the policy introduced by the Young Liberals. “This is a really big moment for Young Liberals, and shows that the Ontario Liberal Party truly cares about having youth play a role in their policy process”, said Ally St. Jean, SDSG Young Liberals President.
The Ontario Liberal platform can be found on Premier Kathleen Wynne’s website at www.kathleenwynne.ca.
