The Counties, Ontario – The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SDG) are pleased to partner with the Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network and celebrate the launch of the 2014-2015 SDG&PR Farm Fresh Local Food Map which was officially launched at the Avonmore Berry Farm on Saturday, June 21, 2014.

Enjoying the first day of summer with juicy ripe strawberries fresh from the fields, homemade baked goods and bright summer sunshine was the perfect location to share the new Local Food map.

Dana Kittle, Coordinator, Eastern Ontario Agri-Food Network was delighted to hand out the freshly printed maps at the launch, as well as celebrate with freshly picked strawberries. “This map captures the local producers and farmers’ markets in SDG and PR to those consumers that want to support the local industry”.

Terry Besner, Economic Development and Communication Officer, SDG, “the support that the United Counties of SDG gives to this initiative, further illustrates the importance placed on the agriculture sector within SDG. We are proud to be affiliated with the EOAN and will work closely together to continue marketing with this significant partner”.

15,000 copies of the new SDG&PR Farm Fresh Local Food map have been produced this year and will be distributed throughout the SDG&PR region and beyond beginning in late June to promote and raise awareness of local farm fresh products.
