South Glengarry Ontario — John Warden is announcing his candidacy for Deputy Mayor of South Glengarry. Mr. Warden, business owner of John Warden Septic and Trucking, is no newcomer to municipal politics. He served on South Glengarry council as Councillor from 2003 to 2006 and as Deputy Mayor from 2006 to 2010. Mr. Warden has also served on the SDG OPP Board and was a member of the Planning Advisory Committee and the Airport Commission.

John Warden is putting forth his nomination for several reasons. “South Glengarry is a wonderful community and I want to do my part in ensuring we continue to make it better”, says Mr. Warden.

Improved customer service, transparency and accountability are key words in the Warden campaign. “We need to provide better assistance to the public. Instead of simply creating roadblocks, we need to assist the public and contractors by guiding them and providing the information required so that goals can be achieved and projects completed.”

When asked about budgets and spending, Mr. Warden states, “The public has the right to know and needs to know where their tax dollars are being spent. With more services and less funding being downloaded to municipalities, along with the need to maintain our roads and infrastructure on an on-going basis, it is critical now more than ever that every dollar spent be justified.”

“Municipal Council and employees need to be accountable for their decisions, actions and spending”, says Warden. “Ultimately, we should all have the same goals; helping the public to successfully resolve their issues and economic growth for our community.”
