Cornwall Ontairo — Local Member of Parliament Guy Lauzon announced today that he will be serving on the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights beginning this week in Ottawa.
“Justice issues have been some of the most interesting and important issues that I have worked on in Ottawa since becoming a Member of Parliament,” said MP Lauzon. “Our government has worked hard to crack down on violent criminals and stand up for victims rights, so I look forward to some of the key files the Committee will be dealing with in the coming months.”
Lauzon has previously served as Chair of the Official Languages Committee, and worked on House Committee such as the Board of Internal Economy Committee, the Library of Parliament, and Agriculture and Agri-Food.
The Committee will start meeting this week in Ottawa with meetings scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
