Cornwall Chamber AwardsCornwall, Ontario – This year, our chamber will be celebrating 125 years of community service to businesses.

As it is customary every February, the Business Excellence and Citizen of the Year awards banquet will soon be taking place, but the chamber needs your nominations.

“We have already put out the call for nominations in each of the awards and the response has been good,” said chamber manager Lezlie Strasser. “However, there are likely many others who would like to see a business or individual recognized and we want to remind people that the deadline for nominations is Friday, January 30.”

You can nominate someone by visiting http://www.cornwallchamber.com/members-services/chamber-events/business-excellence-citizen-of-the-year-banquet

There are nine business awards plus the Citizen of the Year and they are described, along with the criteria for each one, in the Nominations section. Strasser recommends that for each nomination, some detail is a good idea. “Providing details as to why the firm or individual warrants consideration is a good idea and support such as testimonial letters helps as well, she continues. “It gives the nominating committee the information it needs to make the best choice.”
