SteveMoreauCORNWALL – Last Saturday, the River Kings snapped a 10-game losing streak with a victory over the Laval Predateurs.

Was it hard work that finally paid off? Or perhaps a bit of luck?

The 1,339 fans in attendance surely noticed several pink umbrellas in the stands. Fans have seen a few bizarre things at the Civic Complex over the past three seasons, but nothing like this before.

For River Kings owner Steve Moreau, who circulated the umbrellas, it’s his lucky charm.

“Some people have a lucky hat, a lucky coin or even a lucky teddy bear,” said Moreau. “I have a pink umbrella and last Saturday, it worked!”

Fans are being asked to bring their own lucky charm to the rink, no matter how bizarre it may be, on Saturday night when Cornwall hosts Trois-Rivieres in the team’s regular-season finale.

The River Kings would love nothing more than to head into the LNAH post-season, which begins next weekend, on a two-game winning streak.

“On Saturday night, I’ll have my lucky pink umbrella once again, what will you bring?” said Moreau.
