Cornwall Colts play like superheroes in shootout win over Hawkesbury

Cornwall Ontario – The Cornwall Colts needed a shootout to beat the Hawkesbury Hawks 4-3 on Cornwall & Area Pop Event Night at the Ed Lumley Arena Thursday night.

Lawson MacDonald scored the winning goal in the shootout as the Colts record improved to 8-5-2 for 18 points. That tied the Colts for fourth in the Robinson Division.

Lawson MacDougall (6), Tristen Elie (3) and MacDonald (1) scored in regulation for the Colts.

Liam Lascelle made 45 saves to improve his goaltending record to 4-1. Lascelle owns a sparkling .924 save percentage.

The Colts have won 6 of their last 7 games.

The Wendy’s Restaurant 3 Stars were Elie (1st Star), MacDougall (2nd Star) and Charles Levesque (3rd Star – Hawks).

The Cornwall Toyota Hardest Working Player of the Game was Liam Lascelle for the second straight home game.

Cornwall plays in Ottawa against the Jr. Senators Saturday night at the Jim Durrell Rec Centre (7:30pm).

The Colts next home game is a matinee, Shoeless Joe’s Game Day on Sunday, October 25th against the Smiths Falls Bears. Game time is 3pm.

Tickets for that game can be purchased at Shoeless Joe’s with a family of four (two adults, two children) for only $20. Tickets must be purchased by Saturday, October 24th.
