Lumber Kings beat Cornwall Colts 5-1

Cornwall Ontario – The Cornwall Colts scored first but it was all Pembroke after that as the Lumber Kings downed the Colts 5-1 at the Ed Lumley Arena.

Tristen Elie opened the scoring late in the first period with his 8th goal of the season for the Colts.  The Lumber Kings tied the game in the final minute of the first period before scoring 3 goals in 4 minutes and 34 seconds in the 2nd period.  Pembroke iced the victory with a goal on a penalty shot late in the 3rd period.

Pembroke outshot Cornwall 34-30.  James Edwardson suffered the loss dropping his record to 4-3-0 on the season.

Parker Krol was named the Cornwall Toyota Hardest working player of the game.

The Wendy’s Restaurant 3 stars were 1st Star – Will Lavezzorio (Pembroke), 2nd Star – Ryan Casselman (Pembroke) and 3rd Star Tristen Elie (Cornwall).

The Colts record sits at 10-8-2 while the Lumber Kings improve to 11-8-1-1.

The Colts travel to Brockville to take on the Braves Friday night.  Game time is 7:30pm at the Brockville Memorial Centre.

Cornwall’s next home game is on Thursday, November 5th vs. the Kanata Lasers.
