LONG SAULT – The Long Sault Fire and Rescue Department is continuing their long tradition of helping families in need during the Christmas season with their annual Food Basket Drive. MPP Jim McDonell joined members of the Fire and Rescue Department going door-to-door in the community this afternoon encouraging residents to donate canned or other non-perishable food items.

“Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ with our families and to assist those less fortunate” MPP Jim McDonell commented. “ A food basket goes a long way in helping a family with their celebration.  Each and every donation to the Food Basket Drive makes a great difference.”

 

Donors may also leave their gifts during opening hours at the South Stormont Township Hall or at the Long Sault Post Office.

 

“Long Sault firefighters association is pleased by the great response from our community and local business for this time of need for some residents of South Stormont I would really like to thank our members and our great community for their continuing support.” FF Brian Killoran,Food Drive Chair.
