The 28-year old played the previous four seasons in the ECHL. Last year, with the Florida Everblades, Kushneriuk had 10 goals and 15 assists (25 points) in 49 games.

“Chris adds good size and a little more sandpaper up front,” said Rick Lalonde, GM and head coach of the River Kings. “He’s not afraid to go in the corners and in front of the net and he can also put the puck in the net.”

The 6-foot, 190 lb. forward played NCAA Division I hockey with both the Wayne State Warriors and the Robert Morris Colonials. Kushneriuk also played three seasons in the CJHL with Kanata and Orleans.

Cornwall has dealt with a rash of injuries in recent weeks but Lalonde is on the phone daily trying to improve his roster.

Kushneriuk will be in the lineup this Saturday when the River Kings host the Thetford Assurancia. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
