Cornwall Ontario – The Cornwall Colts suffered their first regulation loss this past weekend thanks to a 3-2 score in Carleton Place.

Tanner Spink (2, 3) scored both Colts goals. Nick Lalonde chipped in with two assists. The Canadians outshot the Colts 36-23 with Liam Lascelle getting tagged with the loss despite making 33 saves.

The Cornwall Colts record stands at 5-1-0-1 for 11 points. Cornwall is 2nd in the CCHL’s Robinson Division (and overall), one point behind Carleton Place.

The Cornwall Colts lost 3-2 in a shootout in Kemptville on Friday. JD Pogue (4) and Grant Cooper (6) scored for the Colts. Liam Lascelle was stellar in goal as the Colts earned a point with the shootout loss. Lascelle made 42 saves in the loss.

Nick Lalonde currently sits 2nd in CCHL scoring with 14 points in 7 games while leading the league with 8 assists. Grant Cooper is 2nd in goals (6) and 3rd in points (11). Liam Lascelle is tied for 1st in wins (4) and is in 3rd place for save percentage (.942) and 4th overall in goals against average (1.81).

The Cornwall Colts return home for a game vs the Kanata Lasers Thursday night at the Ed Lumley Arena. Game time is 7:30pm. The Colts will welcome Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cornwall and District to Thursday’s game.
