Cornwall Ontario – The City of Cornwall, Federal Bridge Corporation Ltd. and Louis W. Bray Construction Ltd. would like to advise the public that Brookdale Avenue is now reopened to traffic.
“This has been an extensive and comprehensive gateway infrastructure project involving the road, sewers and watermains. It will be of great lasting benefit to our citizens, including our Akwesasne neighbours, and to visitors of our community. We appreciate the patience and cooperation shown by residents and motorists during this time,” said John St. Marseille, General Manager, Infrastructure & Municipal Works.
As is typical with such road projects, a final layer of asphalt will be applied in the spring and landscaping treatments will be completed at that time.
The reconstruction of Brookdale Avenue from Water Street to Seventh Street is a joint project being led by the Federal Bridge Corporation Ltd. It involves the replacement of underground services and realignment and replacement of the road, curbing and sidewalk. The work is being carried out by Louis W. Bray Construction Ltd. The work marks the final phase of the multi-year Three Nations North Channel Bridge demolition Project.
