Cornwall Ontario – Cornwall Colts stars Nick Lalonde and Sebastian Dirven will play for Team Canada East at this year’s World Jr.A Hockey Challenge in Bonnyville, Alberta.
Lalonde and Dirven are two of 11 Central Canadian Junior Hockey League players chosen for Team Canada East’s 22 player roster.
“I’m really looking forward to this opportunity to play against some tough competition,” said Lalonde who has 16 goals, 28 assists and 44 points so far this season.
“It’ll fun to compete against players from other countries,” said Dirven who has looked impressive on the Colts blueline. He has 4 goals, 11 assists for 15 points this season.
This year’s event runs December 11-17.
Lalonde and Dirven will miss the Colts next three regular season games while they wear the Canadian colours.
The Colts are home to Kemptville this Thursday. Game time at the Ed Lumley Arena is 7:30pm.
