This time of year we are busy at Marrow and Spice doing custom catering for local get-togethers. We pride ourselves in the quality of ingredients that we use and the taste and presentation of these sharing platters. We can put together hot or cold arrangements for you and your guests and offer flavours to tempt any pallet from traditional English or French Canadian to Thai, West Indian, Tex-Mex, et cetera.

Give us a call at 933-3330, and let us know what you would like to present to your group, from 10 to 150. We also eschew the idea that certain foods are only for certain times of the year. If you feel like a quiche or a tourtiere this week let us know and we will make it for you. Feel like a Roast Beef dinner? Great. Turkey now? Why not? Jerk chicken wings? Absolutely!

We are re-stocking the store after last week’s Christmas rush, and today saw new deliveries from several of our local producers. Both Linda’s Garden Goodies and Gordz Hot Sauce brought in some great new products that we have not carried before, so come in and try some new flavours.

Recently we have investigated the possibility of having fresh organic produce in the store all , year round and we have talked with a local distributor that draws from all over Canada, the E.U., Mexico, and California. The quality of the produce that they carry really impressed us and we are considering using their produce for all of our in-house production. Having a local distributor through which we can source organic produce when it is not growing here is a bonus in our eyes. If you prefer organic produce, let us know what you have a craving for via email atmike@marrowandspice.com or at the store so that we can bring in the foods you love.

Roger has been making more of our popular protein balls which come in a variety of flavours and all contain 10 grams of protein for a delicious, nutritious snack. Another pocket wonder is our store-made beef jerky which is extremely low in fat and high in protein and flavour. We always have lots of pre-made healthy entrees in the store available for you to take home and re-heat, from traditional through vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free, and so on. If we do not have it and you would like it we can make it for you. Many of our customers are regularly purchasing these entrees to enjoy healthy whole foods at home, and not only do they express delight with the quality of the food they receive, but they find that they are able to maintain a healthy weight eating our entrees!
Starting in January, we will be offering a different regional food specialty each week along with our traditional offering of West Indian cuisine. The first week will be Thai, and then each week will change. Stay tuned for the rest of the menus.
