(September 7, 2017) The Raisin Region Conservation Authority is proud to announce that we will once again be hosting TD Tree Days, in partnership with TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) Sunday, September 17th between 9am and 12pm at Gray’s Creek Conservation Area.

A total of 300 potted trees and shrubs will be planted which will count towards TD FEF’s goal of planting 50,000 trees this fall nationwide. “Tree plantings provide an opportunity for community involvement and play a vital role in protecting the shoreline from erosion, improving the water quality and creating more wildlife habitat at Gray’s Creek” says Normand Genier, RRCA’s forestry specialist.

This is a family friendly free event that will directly impact the community you live in.   If you are unable to personally attend the event in your community please share the event within your network to help us fill the volunteer positions.

If you would like to join us and volunteer for the event, please register by clicking on the following link: visit www.tdtreedays.com and search your location in the search box on the top right hand corner.  Don’t forget to bring a shovel! The Raisin Region Conservation Authority has been working effectively with our community partners for over fifty years to protect and enhance our local environment. It carries out this role through programs and services related to water and land management, conservation, recreation and plan input/review and community education. For more information, visit www.rrca.on.ca. TD Tree Days was launched in 2010 and provides TD Employees and their families, our customers and community partners the opportunity to demonstrate leadership in environmental stewardship in their local communities. In five years, thousands of volunteers – from Brownies to bankers – have planted over 285,000 trees through TD Tree Days.
