During regular business hours from April 23 – 27, 2018, residents are invited to visit the Township Office, located at 2 Mille Roches Rd., Long Sault where a variety of cycling safety equipment will be available.

Funding was provided by the Province through the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport Safe Cycling Education Fund. The Township will issue bells, headlights, clip on lights, and other reflective gear, all of which are available in the reception area of the Township Offices.

“Cycling is a major means of recreation and commuter travel in South Stormont, so we want to encourage safe cycling habits and ensure the safety of the cyclists and drivers in the area,” says South Stormont Mayor, Jim Bancroft.

The Township will also be donating a number of bells to the local OPP detachment to issue to cyclists within the area during their patrols, as well as a number of bells to be distributed in schools within the Township.

All available equipment will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Those interested in receiving equipment are encouraged to visit the Township Office as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
