Luis’ message of never giving up on your dreams and persevering through adversity will resonate with the award winners the night of the dinner.

The Cornwall Lions Club is pleased to welcome RBC Financial Group as they will, once again provide the $1,000 RBC Bursary to a student who combines academic and athletic excellence. RBC Financial Group is also the sponsor for the popular High School awards.

Other major awards include the Joe St. Denis Award (Parks & Rec), Benson Friends of the Round Table Award (Lifetime Achievement), Brodie Family Bursary (youth volunteerism), Bill Bray Bursary (academic and athletic achievement), Joe Assaly Award (top junior) with the highlight of the night being the awarding of the Jacques Richard Trophy for Cornwall and Area’s Top Sports Personality.

Jakob Loucks won the 2017 Jacques Richard Trophy.

The 54th Cornwall Lions Club Sports Awards Dinner will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at the Best Western Parkway Inn & Conference Centre. Tickets are available at Gordon Jewellers (13 2nd St West).
