Candidates from left to right: SDSG Liberal Provincial Candidate Heather MeGill, SDSG NDP Provincial Candidate Marc Benoit, SDSG Green Party Provincial Candidate Elaine Kennedy and SDSG PC Provincial Candidate Jim McDonell M.P.P. were given 3 minutes each for opening remarks. A panel from the local media asked a series of pre-selected questions with each candidate having a minute to respond followed by a 3 minute all candidate scrum.

As the evening progressed, the debate got lively and at times quite heated but it was very educational, giving the public in attendance an insight on how each candidate would deal with different issues and preparing them for the polls coming up on June 7th.

The public was given time to ask questions and afterwards each candidate was given 2 minutes to offer closing remarks. Moderator Dan Allaire, concluded the evening, which was televised on TV Cogeco, with the message “Please cast your ballot on June 7th as every vote does count!”
