Dear residents of North and South Stormont, and North and South
Glengarry.
Today, I am announcing that due to some ongoing health issues dating back
to the first week of August, I am withdrawing from seeking election as an
Upper Canada District School Board Trustee. In doing so, I also realize my
name will remain on the ballot. Today’s announcement will hopefully give all
residents the opportunity to review the information on the other candidates,
John Danaher and Marshall Wilson, before casting your ballot.
The UCDSB faces many challenges in the near term. Rural education should
never be discounted, and maintaining our rural schools located in our
hamlets and villages must always remain a priority for every trustee seeking
your support. I am sure the remaining candidates will also be supportive.
My decision did not come easily. However, after discussing with my family
and a few close friends, I feel the residents deserve a trustee that will be
able to provide the time and energy to meet your expectations.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who supported me in seeking the
position of School Board Trustee.
