A diverse workplace that includes ALL people no matter what their race, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation offers employers and staff an opportunity to see things from a different perspective and can often lead to employees that feel more accepted as they feel valued.

Explore the benefits of diversity in the workplace with the Employability Network over breakfast on Wednesday February 26 at 7:30am at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

“Often, when employees feel valued, they are loyal to the employer and there may be less turnover. In the long run, having a diverse staff can help to build a great reputation for companies which in turn leads to increased business and a larger pool to hire from.” Sarah Maynard – Employment Support Worker.

Sarah Maynard will be joined by our special guest speaker Mayor Bernadette Clement and foreign worker recruitment expert, Éric Charlebois.”More than ever, one of the greatest challenges of our world is learning to understand and work with one another. Supporting the richness of diversity in our workplaces, and in our daily lives, leads to better decision-making and happier places!” says Mayor Clement.

Along with the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to our expert panel you will learn about an exciting foreign working recruitment program that can support you and your human resources needs.

Seating is limited so reserve your free ticket by contacting Carilyne Hébert at [email protected] or 613-930-0211.

This is part four of an employer breakfast series on the untapped workforce being organized by the Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area’s Employability Network, and is sponsored by the Eastern Ontario Training Board, Job Zone d’emploi and Cornwall Economic Development.

For more information please contact Carilyne Hébert, Executive Director of the Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area at 613-930-0211 or [email protected].
