“We understand that homeowners and business owners may be experiencing difficulties due to the extensive closures in response to COVID-19,” said Mayor Bernadette Clement. “Council unanimously supported this measure, which should help alleviate some burdens Cornwall residents and businesses are currently facing.”

Payment of taxes for property owners on a Preauthorized Payment Plan (PAP) at due date or on the Monthly PAP will continue as scheduled. If you would like to postpone your preauthorized payments, please send an email to taxation@cornwall.ca or call us at 613-930-2787, ext. 2317. Please include in the email or have ready your contact information, property roll number, and property address. Payments by cheque can still be dropped off in the slot at City Hall, 360 Pitt Street or mailed to 360 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON K6J 3P9.

Until June 16, 2020, no interest or penalty charges will be applied to unpaid property tax accounts. Interest will also not be charged on outstanding water bills during this period.

Due dates for the 2020 Final Billing for taxation is July 31, 2020 and August 31, 2020. Supplementary taxation billings will be issued and due no earlier than August 31, 2020.
