Miss Tampico’s? Here is a chance to please your taste buds one more time…

I don’t know about you, but I sure miss Tampico’s.

The eaterie was part of the restaurant scene in Cornwall for quite a few years, bringing Mexican Specialties to the tables of Cornwallites much to our delight. Many of us regularly needed our fix of tacos, enchiladas and fresh tortillas à la Tampico’s, and were simply devastated when Ivan Contreras announced, back in June of 2019, that he was closing the restaurant to focus on catering.

If you are one of the many who were heart broken about it, you will be happy to know that on September 19, you will have a chance to taste Tampico’s Authentic Mexican delicacies one more time. Tampico’s is holding a one day drive through dinner fundraiser to help the Optimist Club of Cornwall, who had to get really creative in their fundraising efforts this year with the Covid Pandemic. The one day event will see all proceeds go to the organization, with Tampico’s donating their time to prepare the meals. Pickup will take place in front of Freshco between 11am and 3pm and must be purchased in advance. The cost is $10 per plate, which comes with Mexican Rice, Refried Beans and 3 Chicken Taquitos.

There is a limited amount of plates available, so reserve yours today by visiting the Optimist Club of Cornwall’s Website at https://optimistclubofcornwall.org/product/tampico-drive-through-dinner/

You’ll also be happy to know that you can now find Tampico’s famous tortillas at No Frills and Baxtrom’s.
