I sat down with Ashlee Murray and asked her a few questions about a new initiative a group of local spin instructors have recently launched.

Who: Creators of the Group Ashlee Murray and Natalie Brunet. ( Both certified Spin instructors) at Summit Spin Studio.

Instructors:
Ashlee Murray ( certified spin Instructor) at Summit Spin Studio
Nat Brunet ( certified spin instructor) at Summit Spin Studio
Mel Poirier ( certified spin instructor ) at Summit Spin Studio.
Josee Amyot ( certified spin instructor) at Summit Spin Studio.

Amy Paré – An amazing female athlete offering circuit classes to change it up 🙂 and for those who don’t have access to a spin bike .

Ashlee is currently completing her Fitness Instructor Certification with Canfitpro and will also offer some circuit classes in the near future.

What/ where : a free virtual fitness group that offers Spin and Circuit classes in the comfort of your own home .

Our group was only founded 6 days ago and already has 39 members. We even have Some athletes joining us all the way from Brantford, Timmins and Chatham, Ontario! ( How cool is that?)

When : various classes per day are available ! 🙂

Why: When we first went into lockdown at the beginning of the year , it took a huge toll on everyone’s mental and physical health. We thought it would be an amazing idea to offer fitness classes to the community and help alleviate the stress of covid restrictions put on us in these trying times. Not having gyms at our disposal has taken its toll on the community and being able to offer something like this to the community just seemed so rewarding and exciting. On top of everything , we also didn’t want anyone to worry about any associated cost, as we all know times are tough right now .

Being able to workout from home for free with the accountability of other athletes and coaches is the perfect tool to add to anyone’s daily workout regime.

Nat and I have been spinning together for over 3 years and both recently made the move to Summit Spin Studio.

We want to help keep positivity flowing and allow everyone to maintain a healthy mental and physical state of mind.

How : If you have a spin bike or have free weights and accessories, find us on Facebook «  Lockdown Virtual Spin and Circuit » and we will add you to the group.

If you don’t have a spin bike or weights , reach out to Summit Fitness Studio ( Jason Dennis) to rent a spin bike or weights !:) He will be more than happy to guide you in the right direction 🙂

We’re a group of 5 busy moms who appreciate and understand the importance of physical and mental well-being.

We are So excited to help serve the community.
