Mike Petrynka, the owner of Mike’s Printing and Apparel, was announced as the third annual Win This Space winner at a private, live event held last night at ESCA Gourmet Pizza and Bar.

During the fall, the Top 5 Finalists of Win This Space were guided by the Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre to develop their Business and Financial Plans to be presented to a panel of judges in a live Dragons-Den-style pitch. Each finalist was given the opportunity to present their business plans and impress the judges for a chance to win the grand prize of $12,000 towards rent in the Downtown BIA.

“The Downtown BIA is so excited to welcome Mike Petrynka,” says Martha Woods, President of the Downtown BIA. “We were so impressed with his passion for his business, his smart and well put together plans, and the value he can bring to the Downtown—we think the judges made an excellent choice.”

Cornwall and the Counties Community Future Development Corporation (CFDC) announced to award all finalists with a $5,000 grant to develop a sophisticated e-commerce website through the Technology Innovation Program.

The DBIA is focused on developing a diverse and dynamic group of merchants in the downtown and is proud to provide this initiative even during a pandemic. Downtown Business Improvement Area aims to build and maintain a strong business area and culture in downtown Cornwall through promotion and collaboration.
