We love our pets but cleaning up after them can be a nightmare. Whether you’ve got a dog, a rabbit, or a cat, your pet molting and leaving fur everywhere is going to be a problem, especially if you’ve got carpets and soft furnishings. There are a lot of very effective ways for you to deal with your pet’s fur, however.

This article will tell you what some of the most effective ways of cleaning up your pet’s fur are:

Grooming Your Pet

Prevention is always better than cure. Instead of allowing your pet’s hair to fall out, regularly groom and take care of your pet. Make sure that you use a brush that’s designed for their coat. Short-haired dogs and cats need special brushes, as do long-haired dogs and cats. If you’ve got no idea which type of brush your pet needs, ask your veterinarian for their recommendations.

There are a lot of benefits to grooming your pet regularly. Brushing them ventilates their coat, removes old and damaged hair, and helps it to grow. It also ensures that your pet’s skin is able to breathe. Brushing your pet also removes grease from their coat, which can prevent skin irritation and blocked pores.

It’s important to recognize that all dogs and cats shed. Instead of bothering yourself with questions like: How much fur will my cat lose in a season or do Yorkies shed?- start treating your pet immediately. If you don’t brush and groom your pet, their fur can get matted, which can be very uncomfortable for them.

Bathing Your Pet

Another way to prevent your pet’s hair from falling out and collecting in your home is to regularly bathe them. Surprisingly, a lot of pet owners never bathe their dogs and cats. Bathing your pet will not only remove foul smells but will also remove any loose or dead fur. It might be worth brushing your pet before you bathe them, to remove as much hair as possible.

When you’re bathing your pet, you must wash them specially formulated shampoo – shampoo that’s designed to reduce shedding and moisten your pet’s skin. Don’t ever use your own shampoo on your pet, as some ingredients that are safe for us can be toxic to pets.

Clean Your Sheets

It’s not uncommon for a dog, a cat, or even a rabbit to make themselves at home in our bed. Our beds are warm, comfortable, and soft. However, if you’ve got a bedroom-dwelling pet, then you’ll also have a lot of hair stuck to your sheets.

Pet fur and dander on your sheets can cause skin irritation and blocked pores. Don’t allow fur to gather on your bed, because it can then spread out and get on your clothes and carpets. Make sure that you wash your bedsheets once a week, with this in mind.

Vacuuming Your Home

Another great way for you to prevent pet hair from accumulating in your home is to vacuum every day, or two or three times a week. Vacuuming also provides relief from allergies by removing pollutants and allergens from your floor and eliminates dust mites. Vacuuming is a very good habit to get into.

Sweeping Up

If you’ve got hardwood floors, then vacuuming might not be a practical way to eliminate pet fur. You can buy brooms specially designed to remove pet hair. They’re usually soft-bristled, which means that they won’t scratch your floors. They’re a very effective way to remove pet hair from your floor. You can also use them on your bedsheets, carpet, and even clothing. However, make sure that you use separate brooms for the floor and your soft furnishings and clothes.

Covering Your Furniture

If you’ve got expensive sofas, then you might want to cover them with plastic sheets. Plastic sheets will prevent your pets from scratching, damaging, and leaving fur all over your furniture. They’re very expensive, and a great addition to your home. Make sure that you remember to take them off when guests come over!

Alternatively, you can buy waterproof sheets that you can cover your furniture with. This will allow you to block pet hair from gathering on your furniture, and it’ll protect your furniture against any spills or accidents. Covering your furniture won’t stop your pet’s hair from falling out, but it will protect your furniture.

If you’ve got a pet, then you must take care of their fur the right way. All of the tips in this article will be very effective when employed in the treatment of eliminating your pet’s fur.
