Effective end of day today, the City of Cornwall’s recreation facilities are closed to the public.
All recreation bookings at the Aquatic Centre, Benson Centre, and Civic Complex are cancelled starting tomorrow and will be refunded. Swimming lesson participants will be contacted when lessons resume. Any missed classes can be made up at that time.
The recreation facility closure is expected to last until at least Tuesday, January 4. Cornwall.ca will be updated if the re-opening date changes.
“As cases rise in our area, we’re working proactively to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” said Mayor Glen Grant. “We will reopen indoor recreation facilities when it is safe to do so.”
Outdoor recreation facilities remain open. Please follow public health guidelines when using any public space.
If you have any questions about the closure, refunds, or programming, staff can be reached at the Benson Centre (613-938-9898) and Aquatic Centre (613-933-3586) on December 23 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and December 24 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Municipal offices are scheduled for a holiday closure from noon on December 24 to 8:30 a.m. on January 4.
