Ok. So day 0 wasn’t so bad. So far so good. I went to bed early to try and gather as much rest as possible.

I had a hard time finding sleep. I tossed and turned a lot. I finally managed to find sleep around 2:00 am, and then…

BOOM! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!!!!

Sharp pain in my right ankle woke me up. It was unlike any pain I’ve ever experienced. Think flu body aches on steroid. It literally felt like my bone wanted out of it’s socket. I also felt soaked, so I took my temperature. 100.6. Okay, this is getting real.

I got up and checked up on the little dude in the living room. 102.4. I texted John who was still in the camper. I know, it sounds harsh, but I asked him to stay there for now; our schedules are complete opposites and I need to rest which I can’t really do well when he is next to me watching TV. Blue light, you know. I don’t think he minds being away from the ruckus.

I went back to sleep and woke up at 9:30 a bit congested. I checked messenger. Mateo had sent me a message at 7:30 am that read: “I 100% have it. I don’t think I even need to test.” It was bound to happen.

I got up, made coffee and checked up on everybody. Little dude’s fever was down, mine too. Trinity is the one with the least symptoms. Josh was steadily sleeping. Mateo has only a sore throat. He did test and it returned positive.

I took care of some business, but I’m definitely feeling the lack of energy. I went to prepare a big fruit salad to pump us up with vitamins, then went back to my bed and watched Netflix.

Around 3:00pm, Josh ran downstairs, confused. He asked me if I was ok. He had heard someone puke or scream. He seemed confused and out of place. He made little sense. He walked away and I got up and followed him to the kitchen to ask a few situational question to make sure he was okay. I didn’t like how he sounded.

He didn’t reach the kitchen. He started vomiting like crazy.

So I got the cot out and set him up in my living room to keep an eye on him too. That area is quickly becoming the sick ward of my home. I stressed the importance of keeping hydrated, gave him a bottle of pedialyte and went back to bed.

9PM. By now, I’m full on coughing. Thank God the pain when I do is not that of day 0, I’d be dead. Losanges, teas and gatorade are my new best friends. I got my Neti pot out too.

I made sure everybody was ok one last time. Trinity and Mateo are fine, Josh and Ezekiel were sound asleep, John had said earlier that he was over it and would be okay by tomorrow, which will be his day 4. I hope it will be as quick for the rest of us. It is crazy how the same disease is affecting everybody differently. Josh isn’t coughing at all, but has gastro intestinal symptoms. Trinity doesn’t seem to be bothered at all. Ezekiel is totally lethargic. I’m at about a 3, on a scale of one to 10, 10 being the worst. My ankle is what bothers me most, believe it or not. It’s still hurting.

Alright, time to take that cough to bed.
