Leprechauns are actually one reason you’re supposed to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day – or risk getting pinched!

The tradition is tied to folklore that says wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns, who like to pinch anyone they can see.

So today we will work on making an easy and simple craft that we can make together at home from simple materials.

MATERIALS REQUIRED: Scissors – green paper – a wooden popsicle stick if possible.

STEPS: Cut out the drawn shapes (see the attached pictures). Glue the wooden stick to the shape. Let’s create simple shapes to celebrate this day on Friday, March 17th. Shapes such as the four leaf clover and the hat of the Leprechauns which we can place as decorations around us so that the Leprechauns can’t pinch us because having green around us makes us invisible to the Leprechauns.

We can also use reusable paper plates. Draw four connected hearts. Cut out the shape and colour it Green.

Never stop creating! Creating Arts and Crafts keeps us happy so make sure to save this date for the next Art Hive Get Together: Saturday, March 11th at 12 noon at the Cornwall Public Library. Happy St. Patrick Day everyone!
