When we are young (referring to the period when we are kids/teenagers) most of us cannot wait for our birthday to come so we can properly celebrate it. All those gifts, guests, and attention help us celebrate that special day in the most exciting way.

Cornwall, ON – Seaway Senior Citizens Club is gearing up for another busy Fall with a wide variety of activities, classes, programs, and special events geared to those fifty plus in the Cornwall / Akwesasne area.

But then, as time goes by, and we get older, it seems like that thrill starts to slowly subside and it seems like as adults we no longer have the need to celebrate our birthdays, or at least not in that pompous way.

But if you ask us, that should never be the case. This is the day when you were born and that’s something that simply must be celebrated and acknowledged. If you need more reasons to prove our point, then keep reading and you’ll see we are right!

It Represents The Beginning Of Your Life!

As we stated previously, it was the day when you were born, when God, higher power or whatever, decided to be part of the world and have some sort of purpose and goal. And that’s definitely something that should be celebrated.

You know how companies love to celebrate their founding. Well, that’s because these moments truly matter. Birthday is not only about receiving gifts but an opportunity to reflect on your life and your entire existence.

A Perfect Excuse To Pamper Yourself

A lot of people tend to neglect their needs and wishes because they are either too focused on others, or they are leading a hectic life that makes them forget about their own plans and desires.

If that’s the case with you, then you simply must “use” this day to prioritize yourself in every imaginable way. This is the day when you should treat yourself to something special, something that you’ve been yearning for a while.

Even if it’s something a bit pricey, who cares? It’s that one day of the year when you are “allowed” to buy anything. Speaking of your birthday, did you know that there are awesome restaurants where you can get a free birthday meal and eat something delicious? We were honestly blown away by this idea because it shows that someone you’ve never met wants you to have the loveliest birthday in the world.

Birthday Can Serve As A Motivation Too!

A vast majority of people are dealing with some serious ups and downs throughout the year and these negative moments can oftentimes break our spirit. Not to mention, that all of us are prone to making some mistakes that are far from benign.

And all of these occurrences can seriously make us feel very stressed. But then, when our birthday arrives we get a feeling like it’s a brand-new opportunity to start fresh and erase everything bad that has happened.

It’s a perfect moment to say bye-bye to all the negativity and motivate yourself to work harder and make some awesome changes that are going to give you the life you’ve always dreamed of. That’s why, if you ask us, precisely your birthday can motivate you to prepare yourself for the upcoming events and handle them amazingly.

You Get To Spend This Day With People You Love

The reality is that a lot of us lead very busy and chaotic lives that frequently do not allow us to spend more time with the people we love the most. But there’s no excuse for your birthday. No matter how busy someone may be, they must take some time to celebrate this special day with you.

Generally speaking, this is a spectacular opportunity to gather all your favorite people and since it’s your birthday, you get to decide who is invited and who isn’t, which means no unpleasant surprises.

Gives You Another Reason To Celebrate Something

It appears to be like people are no longer in the mood to celebrate anything, but what they fail to realize is that precisely celebration of any kind is a great way to refresh your day and for a brief moment forget all the draining tasks and chores you normally do on a daily basis.

That’s why it’s always a good idea to find a reason to celebrate something and allow yourself to have some fun. There’s surely nothing wrong with that!

And Then There Are Gifts!

Now, even though you can have the time of your life even without them, everyone loves when they receive some awesome gifts. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive, even a simple birthday card will make you feel special.

It doesn’t matter whether you’ll celebrate your birthday with 50 people, with 2-3 of them, or even all by yourself, what matters is to find a way to celebrate it because, after all, that’s one day out of 365 days that it’s officially yours.
