“Coca-Cola should always be within an arm’s reach of desire.” (Robert W. Woodruff)

Collectors come in all forms, and what they collect will vary from A to Z. Somewhere in this world is a collector, and many thousands of diehard collectors share their interests and passion for Coca-Cola. From its beginnings in 1886 to today, the Coca-Cola logo and its branding are the most recognized around the world. It is said that “Coca-Cola brings people together, no matter where they are.” Coca-Cola collectors are admired since they have a passion for the brand that many companies would love to have.

What’s in a Name

The items that were labelled with the Coca-Cola logo and images, or products reflecting the joy of drinking Coca-Cola are too numerous for this article. Any web search for Coca-Cola memorabilia will provide thousands of images of advertising and promotional items. Like everything that is sought and possibly worth a lot of money. Copies or fakes are a real problem. The copies of vintage Coca-Cola items are a serious concern for collectors. So it becomes a buyer’s beware and awareness of what you are buying. The most common fake Coca-Cola memorabilia are advertising signs and serving trays. The makers age the items, to give it the appearance of a worn/used promotional Coca-Cola item. For the serious collector, it might be a good idea to join a local chapter or the Coca-Cola Collectors Club to share and learn more about Coca-Cola memorabilia.

As with any collection, having the proper inventory list, photographs and detailed information of the items will become important. Depending on your goals, either for insurance or to sell your collection. It also provides family members with information on your collection, should something happen to the owner.
