Cornwall, ON – Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties is making significant strides in its mission to provide affordable housing, with three new homes under construction this year. Following the successful completion of two homes in Maxville, another is currently underway in the same area. To support this ambitious project, the organization is raising funds through its Second Annual Grateful Shed Raffle.
Last year’s Grateful Shed Raffle was a major success, generating over $6,000 to aid affordable housing efforts. This year, the stakes are even higher with a prize package valued at more than $7,800, generously donated by local businesses. The package includes:
- An 8’x12’ shed from Old Hickory Sheds of Cornwall
- A BBQ from The Brick
- A $200 gift card from Cardinal & Son Wholesale
- A CAT tool trio from Fines Home Hardware
- A propane tank and BBQ tools from P38 Energy
- A bistro set and pizza oven from Cornwall BMR
- A cooler and Yeti from Cornwall Peavey Mart
- Outdoor décor and a gift card from Marlin’s Orchard
- Outdoor games and gear from Cornwall ReStore
5th Line Transportation played a key role in coordinating the delivery of the shed to the Cornwall ReStore, where it is now on display.
The raffle will culminate with a live drawing on September 30th at 3 PM at the Cornwall ReStore. Tickets are priced at $10 each and are available for purchase at the ReStore located at 1400 Vincent Massey Drive, or by calling 613-938-0413 ext. 204. Additionally, tickets will be sold at various community events throughout the summer. With only 1,500 tickets printed, supporters are encouraged to purchase theirs early.
Proceeds from the raffle will directly support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing. Funds will be used to purchase essential construction supplies for the current home build in Ingleside for the Jimenez Family.
