COVID-19 is still hanging around, even though it feels like we’ve got it mostly under control. In my house, two of my kids are currently sick with it, which has been a reminder that the virus is still out there. Thankfully, despite being in very close contact to them for days during our recent vacation–all packed in one hotel room–so far, I have not become ill. I give credit to my oil of oregano.
However, just today, Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital declared a COVID-19 outbreak and has started restricting visitors until they get it under control. This news shows that we still need to be vigilant.
The hospital’s restrictions are meant to keep everyone safe, especially the patients and staff. Even though we’ve got vaccines and better treatments now, COVID-19 is still a real threat for vulnerable people, especially in places like hospitals.
I sound like a broken record, I know, but simple things like wearing masks or staying home when sick, coughing or sneezing in your arm and washing our hands often can help a lot. COVID-19 hasn’t disappeared, and it’s up to all of us to do what we can to prevent the spread.
If you or anyone you know is affected by the outbreak at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital, make sure to follow the advice from health authorities.
