AROUND THE COUNTIES WITH SYLVIE. On August 18th, I attended the Loose Leaf Co. concert at Arts in the Park. I knew we were off to a good start when Jeff Landriault (rhythm guitar, harmonica and vocals), by way of introduction, said, "We hope to put a tap in your toe," quickly followed by, "We're going to come at you from different directions," referring to the wide variety of music in the band's repertoire. In addition to Jeff, the band members include Barry Coleman (drums), Mark RaePeet (bass guitar) and Bill Wilkat (lead guitar). Their unique sound came through in the variety of genres they performed, including rock, Motown, country and R&B, as well as their original songs. Among the tunes performed were the Eagles' Take It Easy, Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman, the Beatles' Nowhere Man and Drive My Car, and the band's original song Halfway to Nowhere. It was an entertaining evening of great music, enhanced by Sheldon Grant Professional Sound and Lighting. The enthusiastic response from the audience showed that Loose Leaf – Cornwall. had definitely hit the right note.
