OUT and ABOUT with Seeker Chick Mai-Liis: as always this past weekend saw Sheldon aka DJ Shellshock and I DJing at a wedding on Saturday. We were honoured to spend the day celebrating their Special Day with Crystal and Brytan, the new Mr. and Mrs. Faber. We keep a good sized crowd on the dance floor at the Moose Creek Recreation Centre til 1am, took down til 2 and finally got to bed close to 4am BUT on Sunday I was determined to visit some Apples and Art Studio Tour locations.
What better way to spend the last weekend in September than to tour the 41 locations throughout SDG&G where artists were displaying their work, while at the same time enjoying the colourful canvas of Mother Nature as the leaves are starting to change colours.
Close to 80 artists were on the 35th Annual Studio Tour. I would loved to have visited quite a few sites but after only a few hours of sleep I took longer to get going on Sunday afternoon so I just had time to visit Marlin Orchards & Garden Centre where there were quite a few artists displaying a variety of styles and medias.
What was nice about this location was the fact that I knew some of the artists but there were many who were new to me. The youngest artist on the tour, 7 year old Arthur, had his work on display. He had been in attendance on Saturday but 2 days is definitely too long for someone that young to talk about his work. Here are some photos where the artists are showcasing their work. Enjoy!
