Yesterday evening (Tuesday, September 16) OUT and ABOUT with Seeker Chick Mai-Liis attended the Business Sisters – Consœurs en Affaires Networking Event that was held at Sadie & June Gift Shop located at 9 Main St. S. in Maxville, Ontario.

Such a beautiful place owned by Kendall and Steve with food provided by Genesis Kitchen in Alexandria and desserts from the Muir’s Bakery in Maxville and let’s not forget the beverages served by Heinz, the hubby of Doreen Ashton Wagner who runs Business Sisters. Doreen can be seen with me in the first pic above, with the Business Sisters sign. The lady with the yellow glasses, in the last pic below is the owner of Genesis Kitchen (formerly Tom’s Pantry) located at 1 Main Street South in Alexandria, Ontario. She is with her mother, a Real Estate Agent who helped to prepare tonight’s meal.

As always there was plenty of time for networking, circle time for introductions and time to check out the location, Sadie and June which specializes in Vintage Map Gifts and items from local makers. There is a lot to see but everything is well organized and visible but I do need to let you know that you will to visit on a day when you have time as you will want to check out everything – there are so many unique gift ideas here. The Vintage Maps with red hears embroidered by Steve (as we found out at our gathering) can be purchased as gifts for so many different occasions and all the T-shirts and hats are designed by this talented duo.

At the end of the evening there were prizes drawn and the winners are seen here with their gifts and Doreen, organizer of all these wonderful events,

Why the name Sadie and June when the owners are named Kendall and Steve??? Well you will just have to visit this quaint shop of unique gifts to ask them yourself…

Business Sisters – Consœurs en Affaires is an organization that supports rural women entrepreneurs and is ran by Doreen Ashton Wagner, a woman who is a wealth of “entrepreneurial knowledge”. Each month there is a Networking Event which is hosted at a different business location owned and operated by one of the Business Sisters group members. Check out their website at: business-sisters.ca

Hope to see you at the next Networking Event!
