Lately I got the chance to get to know George Lucena and his wife Vanessa and talked with them about their journey here in Canada, coming from Brazil and sharing their gifts with our community, the gift of sound healing.
I got to learn more about their relationship with these magical instruments that they are sharing with everyone who are willing to open their hearts to this magic.
Please join me in a very interesting interview with George and Vanessa.
1. Please introduce yourself and your beautiful partner Vanessa
We are a typical Brazilian family, married for 20 years, George and Vanessa, we have 3 beautiful daughters Jade, Mel, and Luna. We came to Canada in 2020, mainly because of my dream of experiencing life in this country, which was my gateway to this world. I was born in Kitchener, ON, where my Brazilian family lived for 4 years while my father was doing his doctorate at the University of Waterloo. So, since childhood, I’ve always had this dream of one day returning and experiencing what it would be like to live life in this hemisphere. We’ve been in Canada for 5 years now, we have our own business, our Om Flow store in Ottawa, and we continue to share our work with sound meditation journeys wherever we go, in this mission to help every human being to sensitize their senses, expand their awareness of deeper and quieter spaces within themselves, balancing mental, physical, and spiritual health.
2. Please share with us more about your journey of discovering music as a healing way to connect with people.
Vanessa said, “From a very young age, George connected with music and he felt impacted by how music had the power to transform his emotions, calm his mind, which was always very restless, and in a very natural way, life led him down this path of encountering this music that builds bridges with the heart, with nature, and with the sacred. He has always been passionate about musical instruments and musical manifestations around the globe, whether from ritual, traditional, cultural, or spiritual manifestations”.
George Lucena is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and music producer, and you can find his work on all digital streaming platforms.
Vanessa is a seeker of herself. She has traveled various spiritual paths and found herself in the medicine of immersing herself in meditation. She trained as an integral therapist, combining techniques such as thetahealing, flower medicine, aromatherapy, and Reiki. In the Sound Bath, she integrates her sensitivity to the healing of sound vibrations.
3. How was your journey in Canada with your magical music intentions?
It has been a very special time that we have been sharing and serving so many people here in Canada over these years. For most people who arrive, it is often the first time they have participated in this type of experience, and it is always incredible to witness the power that sound, music, and silence have, how they are able to touch us deeply and lead us to experience emotions, awaken dormant memories, awaken and sharpen senses that we do not commonly use, cleanse and unblock the energy field, among so many other things. And for those who always return, it is always an opportunity to delve deeper into their inner and infinite universe, to get to know themselves a little better, and to reach increasingly silent and meditative spaces.
4. What are your future dreams to achieve especially for the new year coming?
Our mission in this life is to learn more and more to be free to follow the Flow that it brings us, to always be open to the unknown, without fear, trusting in existence, which provides us with what we need to evolve at every moment in this passage through Earth, and in the middle of this path, to find and share the love and joy of living with the beings that life allows us to meet. To express and manifest the beauty of art and culture and encounters.
Our wish is that more and more people feel open to living new experiences, free from prejudice and old beliefs, and that we can live in a more sustainable way, respecting all beings and our home, Mother Earth.
