AROUND THE COUNTIES WITH SYLVIE. On June 23rd, I was back at Arts in the Park in Lamoureux Park, this time to hear the KRomaticS play some easy-listening songs. I would hazard a guess that the capitalized letters in the band’s name are for the first names of their members – Kevin Lamoureux (keyboard/vocals), Ryan Morin (guitar/vocals), René Potvin (drums/percussion), and Sue Lamoureux (flute/harmonica/tambourine/vocals).
For a band that is only two years-old, it was rich in harmonies and had a unique sound making old favorites their own. They played songs spanning several decades like the 50’s “Route 66”, the 60’s “Quando, Quando,” the 70’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down,” and the 90’s “As Long as You Love Me.”
Special thanks to Sheldon Grant of Sheldon Grant Professional Sound and Lighting who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that everything sounded perfect.
