On Friday March 1st OBO studios hosted an exhibition of paintings and drawings created by a group of enthusiastic and diverse artists who are relatively new to the local art scene.
The original group was formed several years ago and guided by former Cornwall resident and artist Ana Lucia deWilson. When deWilson made the decision to move back to her native Guatemala, her students found themselves a new home at OBO studios where they are now guided by artists Emily MacLeod and Tracy Lynn Chisholm.
The group has grown in number since its inception and presents a wide range of artistic styles, subjects and mediums. The artists have been meeting regularly for almost a year to work and discuss their artistic goals.
Participating artist Stephen Larin explains, “Painting at OBO studios has really helped me take my work to the next level.” “If it weren’t for the group,” says host Emily MacLeod, “OBO studios may never have begun. These artists were the spark that ignited the flame that led us to the space we now call home. It is truly a win/win situation for everyone involved.”
OBO studios is located at 44 Pitt Street in downtown Cornwall Ontario.
