October 21, 2019 – Cornwall, ON – Cornwall Electric, a FortisOntario Company, is proudly delivering the
Affordability Fund Trust (AFT) Program to residents in their service territory, in an effort to help
households reduce their energy bills. The program, funded by the Government of Ontario, provides
households with access to energy saving measures to help reduce energy bills and is completely free of
charge.

All residents who apply will receive a free Energy Saving Kit valued at up to $300 with items such as LED
light bulbs, shower heads, smart power bars and more. Certain households may also qualify to receive
new ENERGY STAR® appliances, as well as potential upgrades to their home’s insulation and/or heating
system. The program is part of the province’s “Fair Hydro Plan” and is intended to help make electricity
bills more affordable for all Ontarians.

“We are especially excited to be able to offer this program to Cornwall residents, as a first of its kind in
this service territory,” said Jackie Baird, Regional Manager, Cornwall Electric. “Households of all incomes
can apply and take advantage of the great energy saving products.”

“We’ve seen savings of about 31% on our electricity bill, thanks to our new heating system,” said Alain &
Pat, residential customers of Cornwall Electric, who qualified for an energy savings kit and a Heat Pump
for their electrically-heated home. “We applied for the program right away and are very happy with
everything we received for our household. Overall, it was a very good experience, our home is more
comfortable and we’re saving quite a bit on our bills.”

Cornwall Electric would like to invite residents to learn more about the program and apply, as the
opportunity will only be available for a limited time. To apply for the program, visit
www.affordabilityfund.org or call 1-855-494-3863.
