The Shop the Block one-day event, presented by the Downtown BIA, will be replaced with a 5-week long shopping experience, Shop the Block BINGO 2020, this year. It will run from November 17 to December 22.
Starting this Tuesday, customers can pick-up a Shop the Block BINGO card at participating vendors. Customers can register their BINGO cards at https://downtowncornwall.com/ or call 613-933-4004. Once registered, they will enter into a weekly draw where prizes will be awarded to random winners. The Shop the Blocks organizers are Chris Munro (owner of Life’s Little Pleasures), Louise Bazinet-Gendron (owner of Studio 101), and Shop Local Cornwall and Area. Chris and Louise have this to say about the event:
Chris Munro says, “We look forward to hosting Shop the Blocks in a different way this year. This event has been looked forward to year after year & supported by our wonderful community. Our customers & the local business owners have forged great relationships with both each other & their customers & this is a way to celebrate these relationships. Shop the Blocks is an opportunity to shop, dine & take in new collections, new menus, new art showings etc. Look forward to seeing you all.”
Louise Bazinet-Gendron says, “Shop the Blocks is dear to our hearts. It gives downtown businesses an opportunity to work as a team. Together we are stronger. Together we showcase our beautiful, historic downtown. We support and encourage each other. In these troubled times, it’s more important than ever for the community to support and encourage local merchants all over the city.”
Thank you to the Technology Innovation Program (TIP) for sponsoring this event.
