Do you think that all you need to furnish and decorate your room is to buy expensive brand names and designs? If so, think again. Beauty is not about brands; it is about coordination and harmony, and you can achieve both using minimal resources. Your room could become the most beautiful room using a few roses, a touch of color, and maybe an extra pillow here and there. Do you want to learn how? Here are some tips and tricks to help you achieve that classy look.

Choose A Theme

If a classy look is what you are after, you can have to choose between two themes: bold and dramatic or soft and subtle hues. Choose the theme that fits your personality the most. Are you bold or subtle?  Keep in mind that your color choices have to match the theme and style you prefer. You can also go for either the classic or modern approach when it comes to picking a theme. If you’re going down the classical route, then nothing beats French furniture. According to the variety found at Homes Direct 365, French bedroom furniture gives you a variety of options. Not only does it lend an air of class, but it also has a timeless feel as well. If you’re looking to go for a more modern look, then stick to minimal designs and fine lines with solid colors.

Mix Colors

Whether you love white, beige, or black, don’t pick only one color for your walls; adding that touch of beige to a white background could make your room pop and give it a 3D feel. All you need to do is use beige wallpapers for one side of the room, and you are set.

Additionally, if you would like to add interesting shapes, you can order wall stickers online to add to the walls, choose elegant stickers with a theme you love, and apply that theme to your room. Think about the windows and door colors as well. Do you maybe want the French black door look? Whatever you paint your doors and windows with, make sure your room accessories have a bit of that color.

Mix Textures

Just like you shouldn’t use only one color for your walls, you can’t use only one fabric texture in your room; otherwise, your space will fall flat. Instead, try using different fabrics for different areas in your room; use cotton for your bed covers, throw in a few linen pillows, and maybe use silk for your drapes.

Use Flowers

A house is never classy without flowers! So buy a bouquet of your favorite flowers and add it to your space.  You can add a touch of color to your bedside tables; this is a bedroom statement that is trendy amongst couples. If you live with your significant other and you have two bedside tables, it might be better to match the arrangement in your vases and add asymmetry to your design.

Try A Ceramic Tray

One of the best ways to make sure your room looks sophisticated is to add a ceramic tray on top of your nightstand. Try buying a tray and redecorating it yourself; this way, besides reducing expenses, your space will feel more special. Color the tray using a bit of gold and white to give it a fancy look.

Use Crown Molding

Crown molding is one of the best ways to make your room look complete. It is fairly inexpensive, and plastic ones can even be colored to whatever color you prefer. Choose a wide shape to connect the ceiling and the walls and color away!

Buy Different Lights

Most people use the basic comfortable ceiling lights in their room; however, that doesn’t create an elegant atmosphere. If you really need a classy room, buy a chandelier and hang it. Choose a color and style that matches the furniture and the colors. For example, if you go for the french black door style, it might be a good idea to ensure the metal in the chandelier is painted black to match the door.

Add An Art Piece

Nothing screams elegance more than art. If you have not used wallpaper or stickers on your walls, buy a large art piece for the main wall and change the focal point of your furniture. Choose a large piece from a flea market or a thrift shop, or simply paint the piece yourself. Incorporate the colors you like, and be sure to match the theme you have set for yourself.

Pick Classy Bed Covers

Bed covers complete the design, so pick them carefully.  Don’t choose crazy themes or colors for your room. Instead, aim for plain covers or covers with animal prints and subtle designs.

Raise The Curtains

High ceilings are a mark of elegance; however, only castles have them these days. Unless you have the option to live in a castle, move your curtains close to the ceiling to add a touch of elegance to your room and fool your visitor’s eyes.

Finally, remember your room is your haven; it is where you sleep, eat, and work, so it should always match your expectations. Whether you are on a budget or not, you can easily follow all of our tips and ensure you add that “ Wow”  factor to your room.
